A spokesman for the Safe City Authority in Pakistan 's Punjab province told Nox Today on Tuesday that an attempt to marry a minor Pakistani girl to a foreigner has been thwarted through timely action.


The police have detained the victim's parents, foreign residents, and Nikah Khawan and have initiated legal proceedings.


A few days ago, the Virtual Women Police Station, which was established in April this year, received a telephone call from a village in the suburbs of Faisalabad, in which a minor girl was reported to have been married to a foreigner.


A spokesperson of Safe City Authority told Nox Today that 'We received a call on One Five, in which the caller said that a 12-13-year-old girl was being married off to a foreigner in his neighborhood. .'


The spokesperson said that the call was immediately transferred to the Virtual Women Police Station, where the caller gave details that a marriage was taking place in their locality, including foreign residents, to whom the girl was getting married. is being done.


According to the spokesman, 

the police station immediately dispatched a police force to the spot, where it was found that the caller's information was correct. The parents of the 12-year-old girl were getting the young girl married to a foreigner for money. The police stopped the forced marriage by taking immediate action.


He said that the police have detained the victim's parents, foreign residents, and Nikah Khawan and started legal proceedings.


Referring to another case, 

the spokesperson said that a few years ago, the virtual women police station had arrested a middle-aged hostel warden who harassed and raped a girl.


A middle-aged warden tried to molest a female student living in a private hostel in Thokar Niaz Baig, the girl's brother filed a complaint of attempted rape and harassment on One Five.


'The warden found the girl alone in the room and tried to rape and harass her. The accused ran away from the room when the girl shouted. In view of the sensitivity of the case, Virtual Women Police Station immediately dispatched police to the spot, where the accused was taken into custody.


He said that in any emergency, women can contact the virtual women's police station by calling One Five. Apart from this, women can also seek help from the virtual women police station through the Women Safety app live chat and video call feature.


 The spokesperson of Safe City Authorities said that women can file a complaint regarding their problem with complete privacy and confidence without revealing their name and address.


On July 21, Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif had told about the performance of the police station since April in a message on X regarding Pakistan's first virtual women's police station.


The Chief Minister of Punjab wrote in his message, 'Since the beginning of April 22, complaints of 50 thousand women have been received from all over Punjab.


Pakistan's first virtual women police station established in Safe City has become the voice of more than 50 thousand women. In three thousand 92 cases, investigation process is going on and instructions have been given to complete 803 cases soon. FIRs of 3,172 cases were registered on the complaint of women.


 FIRs were registered for domestic disputes, child abuse, attempted harassment, rape of women, attempted murder, acid attack and other reasons.


Out of the total cases, 42 thousand 933 cases were disposed of due to reconciliation between the parties or other reasons.
