There are many Indian actresses who are now showing their acting skills in web series after films

Apparently, when you look at Indian web series, you are bound to find some artist who was forgotten by everyone and was sitting in a destitute house, or sometimes someone. He would come on TV shows and remind everyone that he too was famous once upon a time.

They also include famous actresses like Raveena Tandon, Sushmita Sen, Madhuri Dixit, Lara Dutta, Sonali Bendre, Pooja Bhatt and Neelam while there is a long list of male artists.

The actresses of the past are the ones whose resplendent beauty and beauty used to make many hearts beat faster, but the arrival of new and budding young actresses has overshadowed them.

Now, thanks to these web series, these stars of the past are slowly shining again. Let's imagine that not only Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha and Aditya Rai Hydari but also actors like Fardeen Khan and Shekhar Suman got an opportunity in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Hira Mandi' which is the talk of the town these days. He was the star of the eye.

Then the popularity and fame of the web series is the effect of the rich earnings that even a director like Sanjay Leela Bhansali was so fascinated by it that he was forced to make 'Hira Mandi'.

Magical perfection of web series

The web series fever in Bollywood peaked in 2018 when Saif Ali Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui's web series 'Sacred Games' was launched. Based on the novel, the series gained phenomenal popularity. It was acclaimed for its censor-free dialogues and scenes.

Interestingly, apart from Saif Ali Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui, this web series also featured actors who are no longer seen in films. Among them are Radhika Apte and Kalki Kochin.

After the great success of this web series of Saif Ali Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui, other directors and filmmakers also considered web series as a profitable business.

In such a case, various 'over the top' i.e. OTT platforms eased their difficulty as if they were to make any web series, the buyers would have already stood up with the check.

Now when buyers are also buying hand in hand, then a row of web series has started, among them Mirzapur, Delhi Crimes, Family Man, Mumbai Begums or Criminal Justice are prominent.

This web series business which started six years ago has now turned into a big industry. Now most filmmakers try to make as many web series as possible. Most importantly, they have also got freedom from the hassles of the censor board.

In films, the sword of the censor is hanging over them all the time. Now it is known that various OTTs themselves are busy investing in these web series. Not only this, Shah Rukh Khan, Karan Johar and Anushka Sharma are also spending huge amounts of money for web series.

Best platform for past actors

Now whether one admits it or not, it is a fact that Bobby Deol was forgotten by all. After the success of the web series 'Aashram', he came to limelight once again to be roped in last year's action-packed blockbuster 'Animal'. This is not the only example of Bobby Deol.

On the other hand, those actors who started showing signs of aging in a mild manner and the film world started shying away from them, these web series proved to be beneficial for them. This is the reason why when Madhuri Dixit appeared in the web series 'The Fame Game' in 2022, the creation got a lot of fame. Similarly, the seasons of former Hasina Alam Sushmita Sen's web series 'Arya' have brought the actress back into the news.

Interestingly, Sushmita Sen may not have received as much recognition in films as she did in this web series. Chandrachur Singh, who worked in the film 'Machus', also acted in the same web series.

Something similar is the case with Raveena Tandon, who has acted in two web series 'Arniak' and 'Karma Calling' so far and both the creations have been appreciated and at present many filmmakers want to cast her but she Webb is unable to give dates for the next season of the series due to commitments.

Ali Fazal's film journey has not been so pleasant but the two seasons of 'Mirzapur' have taken him to the seventh heaven of popularity and fame.

Well, there are some actors who are compelled by the fame of web series itself to act in them like Ajay Devgan tested his skills in 'Radha the Age of Darkness'. This is the same web series in which Esha Deol also showed her acting skills. Shahid Kapoor also acted in 'Farfi'. Huma Qureshi also appeared in the web series 'Maharani'.

Meanwhile, Ananya Pandey and Varun Dhawan also have a web series called 'Call Me Bye'. Not only this, the famous actor has expressed his desire in many interviews that if there is an opportunity to work in a web series, he will definitely not let this opportunity go to waste.

Most Expensive Web Series Actors

Currently there are around seven authentic and reliable OTT platforms in India that are investing in web series. These streaming platforms have given opportunities not only to actors but also to storytellers and directors.

The satisfaction for the actors is that they are also getting paid for their choice. According to a report by Indian journalist Priya Darshani Patwa, Saif Ali Khan received Rs 15 crore for acting in the first season of 'Sacred Games' while Chhote Nawab gets up to Rs 10 lakh for acting in a film.

The Family Man' Manoj Bajpayee has played the lead role in  He earned Rs 10 crore for working in one season. A similar amount was received by Nawazuddin Siddiqui for 'Sacred Games'. Pankaj Tripathi has earned Rs 12 crore for 'Mirzapur' and Ali Fazal also got the same amount for the same series.

Film pundits believe that with the large number of web series being made, the time has come that the traditional glamor of cinemas has faded. Indian films, which have already been threatened by South Indian films with their story, direction, action, investment, music and acting, are now fighting for survival in front of web series on their own home ground.
